Our History & Experience

With over 30 years in the financial planning profession, Integrity Financial Planners (IFP) has quietly built a reputation for trust, consistency, and deep practitioner support. We’re not driven by headlines or awards — instead, we focus on what truly matters: helping quality financial planners deliver outstanding advice and build strong, enduring businesses.

Established in 1995 by practising advisers, IFP was founded on the belief that great advice flourishes when professionals are supported — not controlled. Our growth has been measured and intentional, partnering with like-minded practices that value professional autonomy, practical compliance, and putting clients first.

Over the decades, we’ve seen trends come and go, but our commitment to substance over spin has remained constant. We don’t engage in paid promotions or self-congratulatory marketing — our role is to stay in the background, offering experienced guidance, strong governance, and practical solutions that help our advisers shine.

From advice strategy and business development to connecting people, ideas, and resources, we bring a quiet confidence that comes from decades of hands-on experience. Our strength lies in our relationships — built on respect, accountability, and a shared commitment to doing the right thing by clients.

We’re proud of the role we’ve played in helping advisory practices grow, adapt, and succeed — and we continue to evolve with the profession, walking alongside advisers as they navigate change and strive to deliver meaningful advice in a complex world.

Leadership & Expertise

Our leadership team is made up of seasoned professionals who have walked in the shoes of financial planners. With decades of combined experience in advice, practice management, compliance, education, and business strategy, they bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to supporting advisers.

Their guidance is grounded in real-world experience, not theory — ensuring that every IFP practice benefits from responsive, insightful, and genuinely helpful support. Meet Darryn and Matthew — the people quietly driving IFP forward while empowering advisers to thrive.

Darryn Borg

Darryn is the founder and driving force behind the Integrity Group, which he established in 1995 after a successful career within some of Australia’s largest financial institutions. With over three decades of industry experience, Darryn brings a rare blend of technical depth, strategic thinking, and heartfelt commitment to helping advisers and clients alike.

A pioneer in “professionalizing” financial advice, Darryn played an instrumental role in the development of Australia’s first university degree in Financial Planning, sharing his expertise as a part-time lecturer for 15 years — all while leading the Integrity group of companies. This legacy of education and mentorship continues to shape the way he supports advisers today.

Darryn is deeply invested in the success of the practices and people he works with. He believes great advice businesses are built on clarity, capability, and connection — and he plays an active role in each of those pillars. Whether it’s refining strategy, developing advice solutions, mentoring team members, or helping to connect the right people and resources, Darryn’s door is always open.

His approach is practical, collaborative, and anchored in real-world experience. Advisers value Darryn’s ability to quickly understand their unique challenges and guide them toward meaningful, implementable solutions that strengthen both their business and their client outcomes.

Above all, Darryn is driven by the impact of good advice. He takes genuine pride in seeing lives changed — whether it’s a client achieving a long-held dream, or a planner growing in confidence and capability under his guidance.

Outside of work, Darryn is a proud family man with three adult children and a wife in the medical field. A lifelong supporter of AFL, he’s both played and umpired the game, and his commitment to community is long-standing. He’s actively contributed to local sports clubs, school boards, and — alongside his family — established a foundation that supports disadvantaged youth to pursue their education.

Matthew Borg

Matthew brings a wealth of practical insight and strategic thinking to his role as Director and Responsible Manager of the IFP AFSL. Having joined Integrity One (Advice Practice) in 2016 as part of the para-planning team, he quickly developed a reputation for his analytical mind, approachable style, and strong understanding of the advice process from the ground up. Prior to his time working with Integrity, Matthew commenced his industry experience working with Netwealth where he grew his passion for finance and the financial services industry, his time at Netwealth gives him great balance of understanding how business operates on both sides of the fence.

A Bachelor of Finance graduate and Accredited Aged Care Professional, Matthew is experienced in delivering advice that balances technical precision with deep empathy — particularly when helping clients navigate the emotional and financial complexities of transitioning into aged care.

As both a Director of Integrity Financial Planners and a practising adviser, Matthew genuinely understands the day-to-day challenges financial planners face — from managing compliance and client expectations to embracing new technologies and growing a sustainable business. He’s walked the same path and continues to do so, which makes his guidance highly relevant, grounded, and supportive.

Since stepping into his leadership role with IFP in 2022, Matthew has played a key part in driving the adoption of smarter technology solutions within the Integrity One practice and across the broader IFP community. He’s known for helping advisers cut through complexity, implement practical tools, and streamline their operations — without losing sight of what matters most: quality advice and strong client relationships.

Outside of work, Matthew is a passionate sports fan and enjoys staying active — proving that balance is possible even in the busiest of roles.

Our Broader Team: Quiet Experts Behind the Scenes

While Darryn and Matthew lead with vision and experience, they’re supported by a highly capable administration and compliance team based in the Philippines. This trusted team plays a vital role in delivering timely, accurate, and efficient support to IFP advisers – quietly getting things done so you can focus on what matters most.

Trained to IFP’s high standards and aligned with our values of respect, reliability, and accountability, our offshore team brings dedication and precision to the operational side of advice. From document preparation and compliance monitoring to managing our revenue processing and payments system, their behind-the-scenes work keeps your business running smoothly.

Advisers interact with our friendly and resourceful team every day — and quickly come to rely on their responsiveness, attention to detail, and willingness to help. Whether it’s sorting out a system query or keeping payments flowing on time, their support is practical, professional, and always appreciated.

We don’t outsource for the sake of cost — we build capability where it adds real value. Our offshore team is an integral part of the IFP family: consistent, knowledgeable, and committed to adviser success.

Across the business, IFP has also embraced smart technology solutions to enhance how we support advisers. From streamlining compliance and reporting to improving communication and workflows, our systems are designed to make it easier for you to access the tools, guidance, and insights you need — when you need them.

How We Support Advisers

At IFP, our role is simple: to have your back — practically, professionally, and personally. We understand that every advice business is unique, so our support isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re a solo practitioner or part of a growing team, we tailor our guidance to meet your goals, your clients, and your way of working.

We take care of the essential foundations — providing strong, practical compliance support that’s collaborative, not combative. Our frameworks are designed to be useful and scalable, helping you deliver quality advice with confidence and clarity.

Beyond compliance, we’re deeply engaged in helping you build and run a better business. From advice development and business strategy to succession planning and staff capability, we act as a trusted sounding board — connecting you with the right tools, people, and thinking to move your practice forward.

Technology is another key part of the IFP experience. We help you navigate and implement smart tech solutions that streamline advice processes, enhance client engagement, and free up time for what matters most.

Training and development are also integral. Whether it’s technical knowledge, business skills, or team development, we offer personalised opportunities to grow — with access to experienced peers, mentoring, and support that’s relevant to your stage and aspirations.

At IFP, support isn’t just a promise — it’s a partnership. We stay in the background so you can be front and centre with your clients, equipped with everything you need to thrive.
